Strength
The choreographer’s brilliance at first eludes me.
Across a stage thick with tall, hefty blades of grass, floats a small company of whispering pink dancers. The petite bodies of the Everlasting Pea appear delicate, too fragile to fight for space in an overpopulated meadow. But first impressions can be deceiving. Hidden beneath the billowing skirts, tiny feet spin circles around those who would deny them. Swirling their baby doll pinks, they lock arms, creating a thin, invincible chain of steel. The performance serves as a reminder. One should not be too quick to judge the strength and abilities of others. |

Posting "A Skosh" of Poetry
I have been reading poetry since I was a child, since my mother gave me the book, A Child’s Garden of Verses by Robert Lewis Stevenson. Poets often provide answers to the tough stuff in life—or at least offer the comfort of camaraderie. And they do so with few words that seem to have a rhythmic quality about them.
Poets inspire me to greatness. And so, of course, I am learning to write poetry.
As I continue to venture into this unknown genre and to keep me from sidestepping a commitment to this steep but important learning curve as an artist, I decided to swallow my perfectionist fears and post my favorite poems. And while I’d prefer they always come from a place of joy, I am learning to let go, to allow the poem to emerge rather than control its destination.
I hope you enjoy!
